Easy Strawberries and Cream Smoothie
Spring is here and I just can’t get enough strawberries. And fresh basil (but that doesn’t relate to this recipe!).
My kids love smoothies of all kinds and flavors, and always have since their toddler days. So of course I love serving smoothies to them because I always find a few veggies to whip into the drink unnoticed! 😉 I know I’m not the only mom ever to do that, right?! (C’mon, it’s really just smart.)
Healthy Ingredients in Strawberries and Cream Smoothie
When fresh berries abound, this smoothie is the perfect refreshment. Although this particular recipe doesn’t contain veggies, it does (optionally) have chia seeds, which are called a superfood for very good reason: they are super high in antioxidants, protein, calcium, and fiber. All good things I should want to get into my growing kids.

Additionally, you can use any milk of your choice for the “cream.” The first time I made it, I used kefir that was introduced to us from a friend. My kids never noticed and totally gobbled it up! These days, we don’t always have kefir, so we use milk. Any dairy-free milk or even yogurt will work just as well!
The smoothie is very sweet, but it’s all-natural sweetness from the strawberries themselves (and the optional added honey if you choose to add it).
