5-ingredient Healthy Homemade Peanut Butter Cups are simple to make in just a few minutes, and are a fudgy, healthier version containing no refined sugar!
With Easter approaching, we begin to think about all the chocolatey treats we will have (not unlike any other American holiday we celebrate!).
If you are like our family, frequently trying to limit the amount of sugar your kids consume regularly, you may also be searching for healthier alternatives to the store-bought junk treats.
That’s where this amazing recipe comes in!
Healthy Homemade Peanut Butter Cups
This quick and easy, 5-ingredient recipe only requires about 5 minutes of your time to prep, and you’ll discover a delicious, better-for-you version of the Reese’s peanut butter cup—without added refined sugar!
These peanut butter cups are delicious “plain,” but you could also get creative and top them with your favorite additions, such as chopped nuts, unsweetened coconut flakes, or mini chocolate chips (for you chocaholics)!
Supplies
The only supplies you’ll need for the peanut butter cups is a muffin tin and liners, but there are some other options to consider:
- Instead of standard sized muffin liners, try dividing the peanut butter cup batter into mini muffin liners.
- Non-stick silicone liners, which are washable and reusable, are a great alternative to regular paper muffin liners. They make popping out the chilled peanut butter cups so easy! Silicone liners are also strong enough to use by themselves, so if you don’t have a clean muffin tin, just place these silicone cups on a regular baking sheet. (Note: You won’t be baking the peanut butter cups, but the silicone liners are great for many uses beyond muffins—such as baking egg cups, or to place inside lunch boxes to separate foods.)
- Try using small candy molds to make peanut butter cups in any fun shape you want!
