Do you buy a lot of things online?
I certainly do. It just makes life a lot easier when you have little ones. (But honestly, I’d probably do it anyway!)
I’ve had my fair share of shopping trips gone bad—you know, the times when the little ones want to wiggle out of the cart, the older ones don’t want to walk but there’s no room for them to sit in the cart, they’re hungry, they’re whiny—let’s face it, I’m hungry and tired and want to whine too.
Add to all that the fact that there’s not enough room in my cart for the large toilet paper package or boxes of diapers, and even when I manage to make it out of the store, my work is still unfinished. The items won’t load themselves into my trunk or unpack themselves at home.
This is why I like buying online. (Anyone else addicted to Amazon? They certainly know how to treat moms right with discounts on diapers, pantry items, and other family essentials, plus free delivery to my home!)
When I’m shopping for clothing, shoes, electronics, or even appliances and home decor (really, anything!), I always do two things to be sure I get the most for my money. These are easy steps that will just take a minute but are well worth it!
1. Start with Ebates.
If you’ve never used Ebates, let me just say this: you’re throwing away money. It literally is the lazy person’s way to save money shopping online; all you do is shop your favorite stores by clicking through the Ebates site, and you get paid a percentage of your purchase!
Cashback percentages vary, but are usually between 3-10%. Why wouldn’t you want 10% back in your pocket? Once your cash back adds up to $5 or more, Ebates will send you a check or deposit your earnings in your PayPal account.
Ebates is free to join and you’ll get a $10 cashback bonus with your first purchase! This is a true no-brainer.
Ebates also offers cash back on select in-store purchases when you link your credit or debit card to your account. Learn more here.
2. Purchase a gift card from Raise.
Raise sells discounted gift cards from tons of retailers and restaurants. (Can you say, “Free Money”?) Inventory is always changing, so I like to check frequently to see which gift cards are available for the best discount. You’ll find gift cards from all the popular retailers (right now, Ann Taylor LOFT gift cards are 28% off!).
What I love about Raise is that if I’m already shopping online and want to use a gift card immediately, I can buy an e-gift card and apply it right away on the retailer’s site!
If you shop online as much as I do, I know you’ll benefit from these simple tips. I’ve earned hundreds of dollars back by shopping this way over the years.
And in case you’re wondering…Yes, you can get a Raise gift card AND use Ebates! Just click through Ebates to start shopping, but before you check out, look up available gift cards from Raise. These two methods combined can land you some amazing savings!
