This super easy and sugar-free slow cooker homemade applesauce is perfect for a naturally sweet snack! It requires as little as two ingredients and cooks itself in your slow cooker.
There are a few things that make me feel like a rockstar in the kitchen.
Like when I actually manage (with toddlers underfoot) to prepare a meal that pleases everyone and keeps the littles in their seats long enough for us to eat together as a family—without having to jump out of my chair to cater to a child’s need before I even take my first bite.
Or, when I make homemade pie crust. Or homemade chocolate syrup. Honestly, homemade anything.
This recipe for homemade applesauce is the perfect example. It’s so easy, I’ll bet I could soon teach my two-year-old son to make it. All you need are two ingredients (apples and cinnamon), and a slow cooker. I’ll bet you already have all of those lying around.
What I love about this recipe is that you can be as hands-off as you want to be. Use a large slow cooker or a small one. Peel the apples or leave the skins on. Add additional spices (like nutmeg) if you want. Omit the cinnamon altogether if you really don’t like it or want a 1-ingredient applesauce! (Now that might just be lazy…)
You can even save your overripe or bruised apples from becoming food waste by cutting out any bad spots and turning the rest into applesauce!
No matter how you adjust the recipe to fit your own preferences, it’s almost impossible to screw up. Plus, your house will smell amazing as the slow cooker does alllll the work for you.
Now that will make you a kitchen rockstar!
