Easy to make, 3-Ingredient Homemade Sugar Scrub will exfoliate and hydrate dry skin all winter long! It makes a simple and delightful handmade gift for anyone this holiday season!

3-Ingredient Homemade Sugar Scrub
Want a super easy, handmade gift to give to a friend, neighbor, teacher, or family member this year? This handmade scrub is inexpensive, takes minutes to mix up (kids can help, too!), and makes a great gift!
You may have seen salt scrubs, which are effective at sloughing off dry skin on hands, feet, and the entire body. Yet, there are some benefits of using sugar in a scrub instead of salt. First, sugar is gentler — small, round sugar particles are less abrasive on skin than larger salt particles. Sugar also dissolves quickly in water, which is helpful when rinsing off the scrub.

What You’ll Need to Make Sugar Scrub
With only 3 needed ingredients, you can whip up this scrub in just minutes! It was so easy, my toddlers even helped me!
- Oil of choice (I used fractionated coconut oil.)
- Sugar (White or brown; I used white sugar for this recipe.)
- Essential oil of choice (Citrus flavors are refreshing and smell energizing; I used grapefruit!)
- Glass jars (Mason jars work great, or I found these adorable small jars with lids on Amazon)
- Small wooden spoons for scooping (Optional, but irresistible! I bought this set of square tasting spoons; they are the perfect size for the jars!)
Where to Buy the Ingredients to Make Homemade Sugar Scrub
I like to buy my essential oils from Rocky Mountain Oils. Their products are lab-tested for purity and quality, and you can get the test result information right on their website! Shipping is free for orders over $25, and if your order is under $25, shipping is less than $5! I’ve been so happy with RMO since I’ve discovered them! But back to the recipe… 😉
Since RMO carries the refined fractionated coconut oil as well as the essential oils you’ll need for this recipe, you can be confident you’re getting quality ingredients at a great price!

Cost to Make Homemade Sugar Scrub
Considering I had coconut oil and essential oils on hand, the only expense to me was for the sugar, jars and wooden scoops, which totaled $26.60 for 16 gift jars, or only $1.66 per jar! Not bad for a natural, indulgent, handmade gift! (I also have plenty of wooden scoops left over, which I can use for future gifts or summer ice cream parties!)
Note: The cost including coconut oil (or other oil of choice) and essential oil will vary based on which brand/type of these oils you purchase. I estimate the total cost for my 16 jars with ALL ingredients would be approximately $35, or $2.19 per jar! Still a very inexpensive gift!
